Progress update: Reimagining a 1960s split-level home
From new insulation to floating rooflines, the makeover takes shape.

We’re really excited to share the progress on one of our latest projects, a unique split-level mid-century home in Gosport that is now being given a fresh new lease of life.

From the outside, the transformation has been dramatic. The house has been carefully upgraded with new insulation, crisp render, and modern cladding and new windows, making it warmer, more efficient, and more striking tin its appearance. We removed an old porch that didn’t quite work, re-proportioned the windows and doors to the rear to frame the beautiful views of the nearby lake, and rebuilt the roofs to give the home a cleaner, sharper silhouette.
Our vision was to respect the character of the original Mid-Century home while reimagining it for today. The shallow pitched roof, such a distinctive part of the home’s design, has now been celebrated with a bold new wedge-like form that appears to float above the more solid structure below, bringing balance, elegance, and a sense of presence to the house.

The original house.
Internally, work to create an 11m long open plan living room and kitchen with views overlooking the lake is also complete.
We’re looking forward to sharing the next stage of this home’s transformation as it continues to take shape
